back to school pictures

I took a personality test and yes, I have one!

It's quite interesting actually, I took a test and I'm sure it's simply that my new job has been top of mind. The results appear that I am well suited for my new job, check it out to the left.

In other news, Britt is thinking that fourth grade is going to great, she likes her teacher and her classmates. Lots of familiar faces again this year. We had a first today. I checked out a few books from the library yesterday that I thought would be of interest to her. She loved them and couldn't put them down. This morning at breakfast I had to get on her. While I was thrilled that she loved her book, she needed to eat and get the day moving forward.

Steve hits the road tomorrow with a team driver. He's nervous but I think that just means he respects the vehicle and the responsibility associated with it.

that's about all the news that's fit to print!

bring on 4th grade, we're ready

Britt starts school on Monday. She is so ready and so excited! She likes her teacher and has lots of her favorite friends in her class this year. It seems like she's off to a good start.

I have ironed out a deal for amazing after school care for her, as well. Since I will be working full time and will not be home until around 5:30 her teacher from last year and close friend of mine, Bryant is going to come over to the house. This is so great because: 1. I completely trust Bryant 2. Britt loves her 3. she will get 1 on 1 care, not 1 of 100 in a huge gym. I am thrilled beyond words with this arrangement.

I better charge up the battery in the camera, back to school pictures coming soon!

Open House

Not at my house, are you crazy?

At Britt's school. We will get to meet her teacher tonight and see her classroom. She will also want to see her old teachers, I'm sure. She's already dressed and ready to roll. We still have a few hours 'til it starts. Think she's a little excited??

more of the same

Not much new to post from Bullhead except it's HOT. Wait, that's not new. Oh, It's only supposed to go up to 99 tomorrow, that would be fantastic. Except it's only gonna be cool because it's supposed to blow 50 mph. Ah well, another day inside.

Steve is beginning to enjoy his new job and it's looking like it will work out. I think I have found someone to be with Britt after school. She's amazing and super trustworthy, next best thing to family. Actually, she feels like family to me. More details to come on that once it is all finalized.

I am just enjoying a quiet night at home. June, you'd be proud of me I fixed tilapia, rice and broccoli for dinner tonight.

Goodnight!

quiet house

I've decided to title my posts since they are dated anyways. Seems less structured this way anyways, don't you think?

Britt has been seizure free for over 2 weeks now. Thank Goodness! She starts school and I am going to have so much more peace putting her on the bus knowing that this is not a daily occurance. I am working on hiring someone to come to the house during the few hours that I wil be at work after school. More details to come.

Steve has been at school for a week and has earned his Driver's Permit by passing the written portion of the CDL test. He's now on to driving the trucks and really enjoyed himself today! He even did some interstate time. Scary to think about someone in training out on the interstate. They are pretty far out of town at least. Maybe that's why so many of the big companies have their training facilities right there kind of in a cluster.

Yesterday he had the day off so he rented a car with his roommate and they went up to Park City. The checked out the Olympic facility and saw someone in training flipping off ski jumps into a pool. Way super cool!

I am getting ready for my new job with the county, I'll be a Public Fiduciary once I pass a written exam and am appointed so by the Superior Court. I am very excited about this learning opportunity, I think it will be a great fit and will allow me to help people while keeping my skills sharp. I have to buy a few new things to wear, I can't dress like I did when I was an aide and we don't dress like we did in Philly out here. Just chinos and tops or casual dresses, Business Casual.

That's a full report for now. If you read this, thanks for checking in on me, we are doing alright! It's just a little quiet around the house without Steve.

7/23/09

We have great news to report!

1. Britt has been seizure free for 5 days!

2. Steve has a great new job! He is going to work for Central Refrigerated and he reports to school on Sunday. He will be driving refrigerated trucks all over the US. He'll be at their school in SLC for 2 weeks then he is off on the road with a trainer. We will really miss the time that we spend with him, but it's a really good job and we are very proud of him!
