Christmas concert

Britt had her Christmas concert last week and it was a big hit. K-2 sang to a packed house of proud parents. We snapped a picture of Britt in her Christmas dress at home then caught some of the show on video.

Cooler desert days

We have been getting lots of rain over the last few weeks. It has finally cooled off a bit - very nice! The rain is great for Steve since most people are unwilling to park their own cars in the rain. The downside for Kathy is the playground duty Monday - Thursday, not so fun in the rain!

Balloon fiesta

Britt and I made our way to the ABQ balloon fiesta and we had a fantastic time! We got together with a few of my sisters and a few girl cousins and one poor lone fella, my brother in law John.

We had a great time and enjoyed our visit so much we extended it a day.

first day of school

Britt started second grade today. She loved it! Here it is in her own words:

I love school because Miss Liska is funny and fun! She is a great teacher and she like me.

My favorite things that are in the classroom are the desks and the tortoise (his name is Stone).

Britt is wanting to experiment with rollers to get curly hair. She doesn't like the regular kind so we picked up the soft kind she can sleep in. I'll post an updated picture tomorrow if it was successful.

One month

This is a picture of our house that the realtor sent us. We're going to have to get the camera out and take some pictures!

We have been here for almost a month and we are all beginning to feel pretty comfortable!

Britt will start school on 8/6. It seems so early compared to the East coast timeline. Kathy starts work as a Teacher Aide on 8/1. Steve is already working full time as valet at a casino.

We are all getting bit by the boating bug. We'll have to wait several month before buying just to make sure it's realistic for us. Living by Lake Mohave and the Colorado River it is hard to stand at the shore!

Lake Erie & Niagiara Falls

We spent a week up at Lake Erie and made a run to Niagara Falls. I have to say, this was in the top 2 of vacations I have ever taken. We had a lake front cabin and it was absolutely the most beautiful and relaxing week I have ever spent. Just what we all needed! The pictures really say it all!
